Having three wheels makes this Door Demon the largest and most stable we have. Since you cannot tip the unit forward to engage the capstan, a hydraulic arm with cylinder will move the tip from 6” to 20” above the working surface. Since most doors operate at the 12”-16” range, this covers the majority. We will change the working range upon request. The wheels are 15” caster either pneumatic or semi-pneumatic. You can lock the front two wheels with a pin when side motion is not needed.
The electric over hydraulic version is our most popular model. We use a Lesson brand motor in both 3ph and 1ph applications. This motor is explosion proof under class II, group F & G. They are both Hi/Lo voltage, 50-60 Hz motors, 1.25 SF with thermo auto reset. Some Canadian applications will require a weg motor with different specifications.
This motor is connected to a SPF Stone pump which operates at 2950 psi @ 2gpm. This SPF Stone pump drives a 6000 series Eastman hydraulic motor that turns the power shaft. The standard shaft length is 20”; additional lengths are commonly made per your request. The driving tip is a standard taper 1 ½” down to ¾”.
The pneumatic version will use a Globe VA6C vane air-motor, bi-directional control system with a maximum continuous speed of 3000 rpm; the intermittent duty is 6000rpm. The axial loads are minimum. Airline filtration & lubrication are 64 microns and 6-7 drops per minute. (See operator’s manual) It will require 90 psi @ 70 cfm; you need a ¾” air line. The Globe 4hp air motor drives a Brevini power transmission that has a 315 to 1 ratio. The amount of torque is related to pressure. This Epicycloidal type transmission is fairly bullet proof. The shaft will turn 12 rpm with no load.
