The DC Demon is electric over hydraulic. The motor and pump is made by SP Stone and is not explosion proof. We operate this unit @2950 psi and 2gpm. You can order a DC Demon with a vertical lift and side shifting wheels from optional attachments.
The DC Demon used 2 each group 24 NAPA batteries (stowaway) with 500 ca each that are used in series in a 24 volt system. This is a deep cycle marine type battery with 140 rcm and 80 ah each. A gel type battery or a group 27 battery can be used upon request. You can replace these at any car parts store. Just ask for group 24.
The DC Demon comes with a "quick charge" (brand name) 24-volt charger that couples to the Demon with a SB 174A-600V connector. The recharge from dead takes about 4 hours. As with all smart chargers, this one will drop to a trickle and then go into maintenance mode if left on for extended periods.
The big questions is always, "How long do the batteries last?". On very hard doors, we open 10 cars or 30 doors, in secession. The Demon displays full power until the last door. The power is constant and then falls flat at the end. If you open empty cars or open and close the same door many times, the life is much longer.
The DC Demon is the most interesting door opener of the day with hundreds of uses.
